Job Summary
We seek a passionate and proactive Community Engagement Coordinator to support and manage our community partner engagement, recruitment, and awareness initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a champion of engagement, adept at coordinating with community-based organizations, stakeholders, and disengaged youth, guiding them toward credentialing pathways that promise bright futures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively recruit and support prospective youth for the BULLS Academy through information sessions, follow-ups, and outreach opportunities
Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with community representatives, youth, and public interest groups
Schedule, recruit, and manage Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and ambassadors to promote MID's awareness initiatives
Oversee the daily operations of the BULLS Academy awareness and engagement programs
Manage the BULLS Academy application cycle, including the selection process and finalizing eligibility
Collaborate with the Youth Engagement Department and Durham Technical Community College to ensure optimal fit and match for academy candidates
Attend orientation, represent MID at select meetings/events, and contribute to community engagement and staff meetings
Track and report monthly expenses of the community engagement department
Develop and implement strategies to enhance community engagement and recruitment
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Exceptional customer service with a responsive and inquiry-friendly approach
High initiative, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Experience in project coordination from planning through evaluation
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred (or equivalent experience) in social work, community development, education, or related fields
Minimum of 3 years of experience in community engagement, outreach, or partnership development, preferably related to disconnected youth or initiative development
Ability to move up to 20 pounds and stand for up to 3 hours
Flexibility to work outside regular business hours and some weekends
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, CRMs, and data management tools
