Durham youth gain valuable work skills and experience through internships
Teamwork. Designing. Building. Speaking up in a workplace. These are a few of the many skills nearly 180 Durham youth gained this summer working in six-week paid internships with local business, government and nonprofit employers. New program expands mobility for Durham youth
Samone Oates-Bullock identified transportation as a key barrier to youth success while serving as a member of Made in Durham's Youth Network. She returned to Made in Durham in August with a critical piece of the solution. MORE

Durham Literacy Center and Achievement Academy merge
Programs operated by Made in Durham's academic recovery partners continue uninterrupted, combining Achievement Academy's classroom approach to GED with Durham Literacy Center's work to help Durham County residents improve their literacy skills.  MORE
Blue Cross NC invests $500,000 in Made in Durham
The grant announced in August is part of $1.3 million donation by the nonprofit health insurer to help Triangle nonprofits, including Made in Durham partner EDCI, support early childhood development. MORE
