“Our community has come together in an unprecedented way to create an education-to-career system that offers all of our young people, regardless of their circumstance or skin color, the opportunity to prepare for success in our innovation economy,” said Meredythe Holmes, executive director of Made in Durham. “Join our business, education, government, nonprofit and youth partners as we celebrate our collective impact and recommit to the work ahead.”

Bailey draws upon 25 years of industry experience and a successful track record of leading organizations through change, delivering strong business performance and maintaining a focus on patient access and affordability. He co-chaired with former Durham Public Schools Superintendent Bert L’Homme the Made in Durham 2.0 Task Force, which culminated in the board’s recommitment to creating an education-to-career system for Durham youth and key recommendations on strengthening impact.

Bailey brings passion and commitment to ensuring Durham youth are supported in achieving success in school and careers, and believes businesses can play a key role in creating a system that makes those outcomes possible.

Current summit sponsors are: Gold – Duke Health, GSK; Silver – Fidelity Investments, 21C Museum Hotel and Pappas Capital; and Bronze – Kimley-Horn, McKim & Creed and PNC.
